Residential Deck Underpinning

Element provided a targeted evaluation and geohazard review for a shoreline bluff residence on Lummi Island undergoing deck repairs requiring pin pile underpinning due to unstable footings on a slope. The use of pin piles to provide additional support for residences and light load structures is common in our region. In construction, we consulted with the client through the pile installation to address site variability and to determine final set depths. Element staff revisited the site to observe and document refusal testing of the installed piles to meet permit requirements.
